"Life is Vortex, Not Just Rotation" Part 2
The same user made a follow-up video. It's equally fascinating.
"Life is Vortex, Not Just Rotation"
To say my mind is blown is an understatement. After writing that blogpost last night with that quote, someone pointed out to me how the planets spiral around our Sun throughout the Galaxy. I can honestly say, I didn't know that. But it's awesome. Here is a short video to demonstrate.
Symbols truly are in everything!

Eternal Perspective; Big Picture
This is an excerpt from the Q&A I linked to a couple of days ago. I find this grand perspective on life enlightening, refreshing, and thought provoking.
"For me there has been repeated reminders that the Lord's path is straight, and does not vary from side to side, nor is there any degree of changeablness for Him.
BUT His "course" (that is the pathway we find ourselves on) is "one eternal round." Meaning we are in orbit, so to speak, around Him and His pathway. For us we move in an upward spiral sometimes facing in one direction and sometimes turned around in the opposite direction as we move upward along His path. We are here to be "added upon" and sometimes that process is so incremental, so slight, and so apparently limited that we can live a lifetime and only move a single step forward toward God. But for God, who is infinite and eternal, that fulfills His promise and even His expectations for most of mankind.
We are here to experience the difference between light and dark, good and bad, and gain knowledge of good and evil. If a man lives without God in the world and his days are few and mean, he may nevertheless rejoice in eternity for what he gained by experience here. Even the abuse inflicted upon us can turn to God's glory if we return to Him better able to know the difference between good and evil.
The Gospel plan is infinite and holds out promise for every man and woman who ever lived and died. How great a step we gain in the few years of mortality allotted to us is not as important as the experience from which we are better able to discern between good and evil.
I have little hope for Zion, because that will require pure hearts, penitent and submissive men and women, and faith in Christ as a principal of action. But I have great hope for mankind. If all men's deeds were illuminated by the light of Christ we could all tell what errors we are making and return to the truth. That day will come. But here, in this darkened world, we are gaining experience."

It reminds me of a blogpost I wrote a long time ago on the symbolism of spirals.

Keeping the Commandments
This is a short blogpost from a friend, who has a way of cutting right down to the sayings of Jesus. It's the kind of thing that makes me really pause, and take inventory on my life, and claimed "discipleship" of Jesus.
With that in mind, I'd now recommend this short post. (To prevent all types of mischief.)

"Plug the leaks"
"Everything you take in which opposes the ability of God to speak to you will hinder Him answering you. So as soon as you will lay down that nonsense and in faith become believing, so soon will God be able to plug the leaks, repair the hinge and fix the broken window. He really does have a house of order, or better put He will only enter a temple that is holy, which temple ye are. (1 Cor. 3: 17) It's not built by human hands. It was built by God in the womb of your mother. And you were endowed with it when you took your first breath. That, and you are wearing it now, is His temple. The Lord whom ye seek shall suddenly come to his temple."

Pretty Bird
I like birds.
I notice them. I get excited when I see uncommon birds flying around. Because of that, I realized one day that I didn't have much of an affinity for Robins.
They were just so common around my house as a child. I'd see them every day. So as an adult I didn't think they were all that special, or even very pretty.
I thought about this a lot over the next few weeks.
I happen to be simultaneously learning about the tradition of animal totems. An almost foreign concept to me at the time. So I used my google-fu skills and looked up the Robin. I found an enchanting story about that little bird..."Medieval Europe lore often depicted the robin attending the Christ child, an emblem of the Passion to come. The tiny robin flew to Jesus’ Crown of Thorns, striving bravely to pluck the thorns away with his beak. Unfortunately, the bird only tore his own breast on the thorns. Since then it was thought that robins wore red feathers on their chests as a badge of honor."
I loved that sweet story. And whether or not it's true, I've never looked at a Robin quite the same. And come to think of it... (Meaning I literally just thought of this as I posted that picture) That nest really does resemble a crown of thorns--encompassing a precious treasure!
