I like this painting. it's very sweet, and the details speak to me. (I wish I knew who the artist was)
A couple of weeks ago, my two youngest kids were really sick. Especially my 2 year old. He had the flu and was suffering with a 105 degree fever for days. Just when I thought he might be getting better, his fever would spike again. He had no energy, laid on the couch all day and night and wasn't eating. It was so sad. He had received blessings, and constant prayers from his parents, sibling, and other family members. Finally after 7 days, I kissed him goodnight and went up to bed. I was praying and asking Heavenly Father what I could do to help my poor child feel better. And the thought came to my mind to be creative. Ok...
So I thought about it for a little while and decided to try a visualization. I went with what felt right throughout this process. I started visualizing this dark, black sickness that had infiltrated his body, and I came up with a tool that I could use to suck it out of him. It looked similar to a large silver syringe. I sucked and sucked out the sickness, then I would dispose of it in a container I created for this purpose. (I try to be as detailed as possible. The more details the better the visualization.)
Now, it's been my experience, that whenever darkness or evil is cast or drawn out of someplace/someone, it needs to be replaced by goodness to fill the void. Otherwise the darkness may return and possibly with more force. (Matt. 12:43-45)
So I decided to visualize a balm or cream.. Sort of like a thick lotion. I put it in a lovely jar. Then I mixed my love for him into it, and the love of my husband, our other children, and other family members. And finally asked for a little bit of the love and healing from our Savior Jesus Christ to be mixed into this balm. I blessed it, and then applied it lovingly and gently on my sons body. I asked for it to penetrate his flesh and fill the voids left by the exterminated sickness. I talked to him as I did this, I told my son how much I love him, and care for him, and what a joy and a blessing he's been to me every day of his life. I asked that Heavenly Father allow this healing to become a reality, and when I was finished, I went to bed.
Just a reminder, I did all of this in my mind, while kneeling by my bed, and my son was downstairs sleeping on the couch. The next morning he awoke with no fever. And continued to get better and better as the day went on.
Now, was it just a coincidence? Would he have gotten better that morning anyway? Possibly. That's all quite possible actually. But you know what? It felt good. It felt really good to do it. It felt good to focus on him, and focus my thoughts and attentions on his healing. It felt good to think about The Savior and his healing properties. It felt good to show Heavenly Father that I'm thinking about Him, and know that He has power to heal his children who have faith in him. And it helped me too, to develop my faith.
Overall it was a very positive expirence.
"When a man works by faith, he works by mental exertion instead of physical force. It is by words, instead of by exerting his physical powers, with which every being works when he works by faith." LOF 7:3
I love this experience. Faith without works is dead, and you put in the works. Healer-Mother LOVE
ReplyDeleteLove it. Faith is mental excersion according to lectures on _aith. What a great way to do it.
ReplyDeleteI know what you did worked and was the catalyst for his recovery. Us moms have such power through our faith in Christ. I absolutely love this story of tapping into that.
ReplyDeleteI love your amazing story. We just had a similar experience with using our minds to hold us at the top of a creek while relaxing on a big air mattress before going on down. We created mental anchors holding and lashing and the current just would not take us as long as our mental anchors were in place. It was an exercise in faith. It works. The God of Heaven created the world the same way. Also, he healed the sick by faith, just as you did with your son. While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
ReplyDeleteBut when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.
And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.
Really cool, thanks for sharing! Perfect scripture.
