Sign in the Heavens

There was a sign in the heavens last night.  Crescent moon, Venus and Mars in conjunction.

What does it mean? Your guess is as good as mine.

Someone pointed out to me a possible relation: Countries with Islamic populations often use the symbol of The Crescent and Star.

Someone else made an interesting blog post about Baghdad a couple of days ago. I don't know if these things are related or not.  I can think of other possible meanings of Mars, Venus and The Waxing Crescent Moon being in conjunction. 

So who's knows.  Just some thoughts swirling around in my head.
